SYSTAP, LLC is seeking a senior software engineer with experience in graph databases. the Semantic Web, parallel databases, and distributed systems to help develop bigdata®, a Java-based open-source parallel graph database capable of running on clusters of 100s or 1000s of machines. We are looking for immediate help with the backend storage engine, failover (HA) support, and distributed database architecture. Significant experience is required in at least three of the following areas: backend storage management, low-level index management (B+Tree, hash index, column-wise data storage, main memory data storage), highly available systems engineering and distributed database architectures.
This is a software engineering role in which the candidate is expected to make significant technical contributions to SYSTAP’s commercial products. Work in this role will be closely coordinated with the Chief Scientist and Chief Software Engineer. The work is located in a distributed, integrated team environment using an Agile methodology. The primary work location is the Washington, DC area, but there are opportunities for flexible scheduling. A successful candidate will possess a combination of superior technical skills and an ability to work effectively in an Agile software development team.

SYSTAP, LLC is seeking a CUDA Researcher and Developer based in the Washington, DC Metro area. SYSTAP’s Blazegraph™ GPU (https://www.blazegraph.com/gpu/) is a new and disruptive technology for organizations that need to process large graphs in near-real time using GPU technology. SYSTAP has demonstrated Blazegraph™ achieving performance 10,000X faster than other CPU-based technologies on data-parallel graph analytics.
This position will actively support the development of the Blazegraph GPU technology and its integration and use within customer systems. Exceptional skills for the using CUDA to develop data analytics are required. Experience with graph analytics, linear algebra and sparse matrix operation is a strong differentiator. This role would report directly to the SYSTAP Chief Scientist in support of the technology development. A strong background in using CUDA for parallel programming is required.
A background implementing Data Parallel Graph Analytics such as Community/Group Detection Techniques or Pagerank and familiarity with property-graph or RDF/SPARQL data models, linear algebra, and query optimization techniques are highly desired. Experience using MPI techniques for parallel programming such as Ohio State’s MPI over InfiniBand (MVAPICH: http://mvapich.cse.ohio-state.edu/ ) including performance optimization is desired. Additional desired skills are experience with machine and deep learning techniques and applications is also highly desirable. This includes linear and non-learn regression techniques, ensemble learning techniques, and others.
